How to Juggle Through Life: Paul Ponce’s Testimony

By Joshua Solano

paul ponce and familyPaul Ponce is not your typical juggler. Not only has he performed for different parts of the world but he also witnessed the undying love of Jesus. This is especially hard for him since he was surrounded by different temptations with his showbiz career.

He started juggling when he was still young. He practiced up to 8 hours a day just to perfect the art. He failed a lot of times, but in the end,  he mastered different pieces to juggle. This was also the start of his realization that one must persevere to reach one’s goals in life.

Paul explained how he was misled as a young boy, thinking he would find happiness and fulfillment in money, fame, travel, and women. All of these things, he was able to accomplish.  But he wasn’t happy.

Then a life changing moment happened to his life. When he was 21, he got his Sacrament of Confirmation and found God. With Him, he found the happiness and peace that he desired. A type of happiness that is irrevocable and true.

After years, he finally met his wife Lia, another milestone for his growth as a Catholic. Lia spent two years discerning her vocation before meeting Paul. Throughout their courtship, they practice celibacy and chastity. It was hard for them, but with the grace and daily prayers to the Lord, they were able to make it through. And in whatever situations, they always consult God for guidance.

They were blessed with three children. Pablo, who was born in Germany. Jose, who was born in Amsterdam. And Maria who was born in Lisbon.

By the end of his speech, the family then presented as a whole how they too have the talent to juggle. Though still not perfect, it is in the imperfection that we succeed.

“No one is perfect. Only God is perfect.” He said.
