IEC 2016 WEBSITE POLICY

The International Eucharistic Congress Cebu (IECC) Foundation, Inc. (or IEC 2016 for short) has established this website for the convenience of participants and staff of the 51st International Eucharistic Congress. IEC 2016 will exert all effort to protect the privacy, security and image of the organization and its stakeholders, particularly the delegates and participants to the 51st International Eucharistic Congress. All information posted on the IEC 2016 website are cleared by the IEC 2016 Secretariat and the Website Committee, to be updated regularly or as circumstances warrant.

Employees and staff that are tasked with providing information disseminated through the website and other media, maintaining blogs and websites, or establishing a social media presence on behalf of the organization, are guided by a separate policy addressing these responsibilities.

The information that we collect through the website such as personal demographics and preferences are intended to guide us in providing services and amenities for your safety and convenience. We do not use cookies or other anonymous identifiers nor do we collect and process information about your actual location when connected to our site. We restrict access to personal information to our staff and volunteers, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.

However, we are no longer in control when you enter other links that may be provided through the website such as those of hotels, airlines, travel agencies and the like.

When you register online for the 51st International Eucharistic Congress, you will be given an individual registration number that will also serve as your Delegate Identification Number during the Congress. This Registration Number will enable you to get a special convention rate from hotels that are linked to our website, but this number has been set up for one-time-use only for hotel transactions to avoid multiple bookings and prevent confusion among the listed hotels.

When you contact us or send a message through our website, we may keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues or concerns that you may be facing relative to the Congress. Thus, we may be using your email address to inform you about changes, developments, or other information that will be relevant to you in relation to the activities and events surrounding the Congress.

We may combine information from our website with information from other sources to provide you with other value-added services, such as having your conference kits delivered to your hotel and providing more detailed information on the transport systems available for you to the various event venues. We will ask for your consent before using information for a purpose other than those that are set out in this Privacy Policy.

For legal reasons, we will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals in good faith if we have reason to believe that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request; enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations; detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; and protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of the IEC 2016 as an organization or organizer and those of our users or the public as required or permitted by law.

Our Privacy Policy does not apply to services offered by other companies or individuals, including products or sites that may be displayed to you in search results, sites that may include or mention IEC 2016, 51st International Eucharistic Congress 2016, or IEC 2016 Cebu, or sites with similar names, including other sites linked from our services. Our Privacy Policy does not cover the information practices of other companies and organizations and who may use cookies, pixel tags and other technologies to serve and offer relevant ads.

We regularly review our compliance with our Privacy Policy and ensure that we adhere to the internal guidelines that we have established. When we receive formal written complaints, we will contact the person who made the complaint directly to resolve the issue(s) and, as necessary, we collaborate with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that we cannot resolve with our users directly.

Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent. We will notify you of these changes and if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, email notification of privacy policy changes). We will also keep prior versions of this Privacy Policy in an archive for your review.
