Committees under the 51st International Eucharistic Congress participated in the Contingency Plan Formulation Workshop in cooperation with the Office of Civil Defense Region 7 at Quest Hotel, Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines.
The three-day workshop involved several committees such as the Committee on Food, Venues, Liturgy, Website, Safety and Security, Transportation, Accommodation etc.
Each committee presented updates on the preparations for the upcoming Symposium and Congress Proper.
Among the committees who reported were the Committee on Food who assured that the packing and distribution of food for the delegates are safe and secure. They have inspected the caterers assigned to serve meals in the different venues and will continue to coordinate with the rest of the committees and authorities in Cebu to make sure that all other caterers or concessionaires will pass the required food service standards; The Committee on Program Dignitaries who announced the participation of 100 V.I.P.s from archdioceses around the world; the sub-committee on Creative Elements Program who proposed video presentations for quiet time and reflection before congress and symposium sessions, and the sub-committee on Symposium Management who announced that there are 1,137 paid registrants, 50 of which are students as of Oct. 27, 2015; and the Committee on Liturgy who took care of landscaping, set-up and scheduling of liturgical activities in their respective venues.
